Free-tailed bat and cactus flowers temporary tattoo! Hand-drawn with black lines and stippling. The full design and wingspan measure 6" x 2.5". This design was inspired by the Mexican Free-tailed Bats that live in cave colonies around Texas. Austin is known for the huge plumes of bats that fly out at once from under congress bridge in the evenings, and people travel from all over to witness the spectacle. The bats are an absolutely essential part of our ecosystem, gobbling up many millions of insects (each catch a few thousand per night). Mosquitoes, flies, and moths are not the only snacks they're interested in–bats are also pollinators! There are even some cactus flowers that rely on bats for pollination, which is why this design also features two symmetrical prickly pear cactus flowers that can be cut out or worn as is beneath the bat.

Free-Tailed Bat Temporary Tattoo
NatureTats temporary tattoos are a collection of hand-drawn designs created for tattoo loving nature enthusiasts. We're here to share our admiration for nature and to encourage others to explore their curiosity and inspiration too. Many of the iconic plants, animals, and insects we've featured hold space in our memories and we know they do for others too. With tattoos, we can use art to remember an experience, emotion, or idea. We get to define ourselves when we decorate our bodies. Temporary tattoos are a beautiful way to play, to express, and to see ourselves in a positive way. NatureTats was started in 2016, by Allison Wilcoxen. Initially, she designed some temporary tattoos for herself for a test run on some real tattoo ideas. “I had an online shop where I was listing all of the random creative hobbies I got into. I made some polymer clay jewelry, watercolor paintings, got into ceramics for a while, then when I listed the temporary tattoos they were gone almost immediately, I knew I had to make more. The inspiration for NatureTat’s dark, earthy style evolved out of my own adventures and experience in nature, my connection to Austin's creative culture, and admiring modern tattoo styles.” NatureTats’ focus right now is to continue to improve our design selection, continue to learn how to make a positive impact on our community, and give back to nature.
Nature Tats offers both 1 and 2 pack options, but at this time, we are carrying only the 1 pack selection. If a photograph says "2 pack," it is only to show the design. We only have the 1 packs at this time
